Attorney Vance Jennings

Attorney Vance Jennings

Experienced and board-certified SSDI lawyer in North Carolina

Attorney Vance Jennings joined Brent Adams & Associates in 2004 and is now an owner/partner in the law firm. His practice mostly concentrates on Social Security Disability law, ERISA short and long-term disability claims, and private short and long-term disability claims. Vance is certified by the NC State Bar as a Board Certified Specialist in Social Security Disability law. Only a select number of attorneys receive this honor.

It is not easy to become a Board Certified Social Security Benefits Specialist. Attorneys must pass a written test and take continuing education courses. They must be recommended by their peers and work substantially on cases in the Social Security Disability field.

Attorney Jennings rose to the challenge and has been a specialist in this area of law since 2010. He uses his expert SSDI legal knowledge to prepare organized, strong cases for hearings and appeals. He has successfully represented thousands of clients.

In 2015, Vance won a “Hyatt case.” These North Carolina disability cases are rare and very challenging to win. Again, Vance was up to the challenge and won the case. The courts recognized the disability retroactively to November of 1986, and our client was awarded well over $100,000 in back benefits.

In 2014, Vance was named one of the Rising Stars among attorneys by Super Lawyers. He is the past Chair of the Disability Advocacy Section of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. He was also appointed to the North Carolina State Bar Specialization Committee for Social Security Disability Law.

Vance grew up watching his father, a prominent trial attorney, help clients in all types of legal matters. He knew he wanted to help others and make a difference in people’s lives just like his father did.

His favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 31: 8-9: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Vance applies this to how he represents his clients.

Vance graduated from Wake Forest University with two bachelor’s degrees in Communication and Political Science. He then graduated from Campbell University with a master’s degree in Trust and Wealth Management and a Juris Doctorate.

He is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, the North Carolina Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives. Vance speaks at Continuing Legal Education seminars about SSD law as well as short and long-term disability benefits.

Vance is a huge Wake Forest Demon Deacon fan, an avid runner, and a state-champion tennis player. He lives with his wife Paige, his two daughters, a bonus daughter, and a bonus son. They attend Hope Community Church.
