Attorney Diana Devine

Attorney Diana Devine

Experienced North Carolina attorney who fights for the injured

Attorney Diana Devine was born in Queens, New York, and initially raised in Staten Island, New York, but moved to rural northeastern North Carolina at age 13 and attended Perquimans County High School in Hertford, North Carolina. She knew she wanted to be a lawyer since she was eight years old. Whenever she was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she would answer with confidence, “A lawyer!”. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from East Carolina University in 2004.

Diana jumped right into the legal field, working as a paralegal and law firm administrator for a general practice law firm in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, for over ten years. She gained invaluable experience in practice areas such as personal injury, civil litigation, criminal defense, workers’ compensation, real estate, domestic law, and much more.

She continued her legal career by attending Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She graduated in May 2018 and swiftly passed the July 2018 North Carolina State Bar on her first try. She began working here at Brent Adams & Associates after passing the Bar in August 2018.

As a student in law school, she received several honors and scholarships, such as the Academic Merit Award, Dean’s Scholarship Award, and even a Book Award. She also participated in several groups and competitions, such as Moot Court, Alternative Dispute Resolution Competitions, Trial Advocacy, PILAR, Christian Legal Society, American Bar Associations Law Student Division, and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International.

As an attorney, Diana is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina Advocates for Justice, Wake County Bar, 10th District Bar, and the American Association for Justice.

Attorney Diana Devine is admitted to practice law in the United States District Court, Eastern District of North Carolina, and the United States District Court, Middle District of North Carolina. She will be admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Western District of North Carolina, and the North Carolina Supreme Court in the near future. She wishes to argue in front of the United States Supreme Court one day so that admittance will come next.

Fighting for her clients

As an attorney, Diana is best known for her willingness to fight for what all her clients deserve. Her ability to explain the law and legal procedures to her clients is unmatched and something she has been praised for over the years. She attributes this ability to her ten years of paralegal work, learning the law from the bottom up and then attending law school.

Diana has extensive knowledge of personal injury litigation, from simple motor vehicle collisions to the most complex premise liability claims. It is very little she has not already seen in her 15+ years of experience in the legal field. She strives to know more and improve her skills at every opportunity. In her spare time, she reads and studies trial advocacy to perfect her trial skills in preparation for getting that next multimillion-dollar verdict, as she did with Mr. Adams in only her second year of practice. Trials are her favorite. She is a team player and will jump in to help on any of our client’s cases.

As a zealous client advocate, Attorney Diana Devine prepares extensively for her cases, in the office and at home, to ensure she is equipped with the information necessary to fight for the best possible outcome for her clients. She works well beyond standard business hours; her clients can often catch her in the office on nights and weekends. Attorney Devine is a true example of why we say, “No wonder insurance companies hate us, and our clients love us!”

Attorney Devine is a mother of a beautiful young daughter attending school in Wake County. Besides work and school, she and her daughter enjoy walking and bike riding on the area trails, visiting the local museums, and attending events happening in the Triangle area. Both are very fun, unique individuals, and we love having them as part of our Brent Adams & Associates family.
