Raleigh Social Security Disability attorney Vance Jennings recently won a 'Hyatt Case' on behalf of a client. 'Hyatt Cases' generally refer to disability cases that qualify under the class-action lawsuit Hyatt v. Shalala. The cases in Hyatt v. Shalala involved regulators' disregard of the applicants' pain, which subsequently resulted in denied disability claims. The settlement order requires the Social Security Administration (SSA) to reconsider more than 75,000 cases, now sometimes referred to as 'Hyatt Cases.'
Vance Jennings successfully represented a Hyatt disability case in the spring of 2015. The claimant became disabled nearly 30 years ago. Vance Jennings won the case, and the courts recognized the disabilty retroactively to November of 1986. The claimant will receive more than $100,000 in back benefits.
