Police in Asheville say that one driver was killed and another suffered personal injuries in a wrong way crash on Interstate 240 East on the morning of October 2.
Officers responded to a call concerning a collision on I-240 near Brevard Road around 2:45 a.m.
Police say one of the vehicles was traveling the wrong way on the interstate and collided with the other.
The driver of the vehicle that was going the wrong way received transport to Mission Hospital with serious injuries. The other driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The names of the victims were not immediately made available.
The accident’s cause remains under investigation.
