A Belleville, Illinois Wal-Mart Supercenter customer has filed suit for the personal injuries she claims to have sustained on June 27 when she was struck in the head by a tent pitched outside the entrance that fell.
According to the suit filed by Carolyn Williams on July 16 in the Circuit Court of St. Clair County, Illinois, Wal-Mart was negligent in its failure to provide a safe ingress and egress to the store.
Williams alleges that the incident caused her to sustain personal injuries to her head and suffer disability and pain. She also claims to have incurred medical expenses.
Williams seeks damages in excess of $150,000. She also seeks additional discovery in order to discern whether or not her injury was the result of an unknown third party who was allowed to set up the tent.
