According to North Carolina State Troopers, a 37-year-old New Jersey woman suffered fatal personal injuries after she was ejected from a car during a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Cumberland County at approximately 2 a.m. on October 17.
Troopers say the vehicle ran off the road to the right and when the driver over-corrected, it overturned multiple times.
Newark, N.J. resident Lakisha Odom was ejected from the vehicle’s rear passenger seat. Troopers said she died of the injuries she suffered.
The driver and another passenger were pinned inside the vehicle. They received transport to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where they were listed in stable condition.
