A woman has filed a personal injury suit against Sodexho Services and other Sodexho companies after slipping and falling at the University of Charleston.
According to the complaint filed on October 27 in West Virginia’s Kanawha Circuit Court by Penny Wyatt, Sodexho Services, Sodexho Inc., Sodexho Operations LLC, Sodexho America LLC, and Sodexo Management Inc. were hired to perform janitorial, maintenance and food-related services at the university.
Wyatt, an employee of a restaurant located at the university, says she slipped and fell on water that had accumulated on the floor in a hallway due to an air conditioning unit on November 1, 2007. She says Sodexho was to maintain the air conditioning units, which it failed to do.
Wyatt claims the fall caused her to experience extreme physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, permanent physical impairment, lost wages and benefits, lost earning capacity, lost capacity for enjoyment of life, medical costs, annoyance and inconvenience, and permanent scarring and disfigurement.
Wyatt seeks compensatory damages.
