The North Carolina Highway Patrol said that a Wayne County school bus was involved in a collision with a log truck and a pickup truck on N.C. Highway 11 South near N.C. Highway 581 on the afternoon of October 28, causing personal injuries.
Troopers say the school bus was turning right onto Worth Drive and had deployed its stop arm. A pickup truck traveling behind the bus stopped, but a log truck behind that truck did not. The log truck struck the pickup, swerved, and collided with the bus.
The two passengers aboard the pickup received transport to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The driver and three students aboard the bus were unharmed.
The driver of the log truck was charged with failure to reduce speed and passing a stopped school bus.
