Two West Virginia men died and a third suffered personal injuries in a crash on Interstate 77 in Yadkin County on the morning of January 16.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, 22-year-old Racine, West Virginia resident Shawn Harper and 54-year-old Nellis, West Virginia resident Michael Hargis were killed when the vehicle they were in collided with another vehicle that was stopped in the northbound lanes of I-77 after being part of a previous crash.
A third Boone County, West Virginia man, Nellis resident Bobby Bradley, suffered serious injuries in the crash.
According to investigators, Harper and Hargis were not wearing seat belts.
The crash took place at approximately 4:45 a.m.
