On May 15, two men suffered fatal personal injuries in a head-on collision on Mount Zion Church Road, approximately four miles southeast of Red Springs, the North Carolina Highway Patrol reported.
According to the accident report filed by Trooper D.B. Strickland, the crash occurred around 10 p.m.
The report said that 24-year-old Lumberton resident Brandon Cole McMillian was southbound when his 1996 Nissan crossed the center line and collided with a 2007 Toyota driven by 41-year-old Red Springs resident Anthony Lynn Hardin.
According to the report, both drivers were the only occupants of their respective vehicle and both died in the collision.
A spokeswoman said that the reason why McMillian’s car crossed the center line has not yet been determined.
