Two people suffered fatal personal injuries on the morning of September 18 in a two-vehicle crash on the All American Freeway at the Skibo Road exit, according to Fayetteville police.
Sgt. Eric Dow said the victims’ names will not be released until next of kin has been identified.
Dow said the accident was reported around 2:15 a.m.
The victims were northbound in a Toyota pickup truck, traveling toward Fort Bragg at a high rate of speed, according to Dow.
Dow said the truck encountered a slower-moving Chevrolet and struck it on the rear-left side. The impact resulted in the Toyota running off the road to the right and traveling up the embankment underneath the Skibo Road overpass.
Dow said the driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The two people in the Chevrolet were uninjured.
