Two Killed In Durham Crash Identified
Police have identified the two people who died in a one-car crash in Durham on August 25 as 16-year-old Destinee Taylor and 22-year-old Demonte Antwann Cissell.
Police say that a 2004 Nissan Maxima driven by 19-year-old Marcus Rogers ran off the right side of the road, went out of control, and hit a ditch before overturning multiple times and coming to a rest in the woods along Old Oxford Highway. All three of the vehicles’ occupants were ejected.
Taylor and Cissell were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Police originally said that Rogers had died in the crash, but he is actually in critical condition at Duke University Hospital.
Police say speed was a factor in the crash.
