Authorities say two men died of the personal injuries they suffered when their vehicle collided with a tree in Burlington on February 13.

 

According to Staff Sgt. S.H. Epps of the Burlington Police Department, the crash occurred shortly before 2 a.m. along Chapel Hill Road.

 

Epps said that police were contacted with a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a fire. Upon arrival, officers determined that a single-vehicle crash had taken place.

 

According to investigation, the vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree near the intersection of Maple Avenue.

 

Burlington resident Charles Reynolds was identified as the passenger. He died at the scene.

 

Graham resident Mike Beverly was identified as the driver. He received transport to Alamance Regional Medical Center and Duke Medical Center for treatment. He later died at the hospital.

 

The crash remains under investigation.
