Police in Greenville were investigating a single-vehicle accident in which two East Carolina University students were killed and two others sustained personal injuries.

The back-right seat passenger, 20-year-old Raleigh resident Victoria T’nya-Ann Carter, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, 20-year-old Nash County resident Kamil Shaunay Arrington, and two other passengers, 19-year-old Greenville resident Taylor Nicole King and 20-year-old Kernersville resident Briana Latrice Gather, received transport to Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

Gather was pronounced dead on November 21. King was listed in fair condition. Information about Arrington’s condition was not immediately made available.

Police said the vehicle ran off the road at Greenville Boulevard and Rosewood Drive and collided with a tree shortly before dawn on November 20. They said alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
