Tire Blowout Sends Seven to Hospital

 

A tire blew out on a passenger van sending seven people to area hospitals near Faison on Sunday. The van was traveling on Interstate 40 in Sampson County.

 

The 1992 Chevrolet van was carrying nine people at the tome of the tire blowout. The driver of the van lost control and traveled off the road to the right.

 

Two children and two adults were thrown from the van.

 

Five of the injured were transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, while two others were transported to WakeMed in Raleigh.
