Three New York Businesses Found to Be In Violation of Workers' Comp Law

Three businesses in Yonkers, New York are facing fines of $43,000 for failing to carry insurance for workers’ compensation.

According to the State Workers’ Compensation Board of New York, Yonkers Auto Mall, Yonkers Service Station, and Golden Yonkers Properties, Inc. were all in violation of state law for their failure to carry insurance for workers’ comp.

According to Brian Keegan, spokesman for the Workers’ Comp Board, the agency is working with Yonkers Auto Mall and may rescind the $33,000 judgment. They are also discussing the $6,000 judgment with Golden Yonkers Properties, as it now has coverage. However, the board has yet to receive a response from Yonkers Service Station, whose $4,000 judgment was filed on March 31 in the New York Supreme Court in White Plains, New York.
