Three Killed, One Injured In Car Collision with Train
According to authorities, three people died and another suffered critical personal injuries after the vehicle they were riding in collided with a passenger train in southern Mississippi.
None of the occupants of the Amtrak train suffered injuries in the crash, which took place on the afternoon of October 19 in McComb, Mississippi.
The deceased were identified by authorities as a 2-year-old, a 12-year-old boy, and a 17-year-old woman. The person transported to a hospital in critical condition was identified as a 17-year-old man.
According to Deputy Police Chief Scott McKenzie, it seems the car didn’t stop at the railroad crossing. Witnesses say they heard the train’s horn during the approach. The railroad crossing had no arms or lights.
According to am Amtrak spokeswoman, the train was en route from New Orleans to Chicago.
