According to court papers, Texas resident Megan Norris was riding a Sea-Doo watercraft when she slipped off the rear, directly into the path of the water thrust by the jet pump. The papers say Norris sustained personal injuries when the water “penetrated her orifices.”
Norris filed suit in the District Court of Orange County, Texas on July 23 alleging negligence on the part of Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. for their poor design of the craft.
According to Norris, she was riding the craft on June 29 along with three of her friends and was seated last, near the rear of the craft.
According to the suit, while Norris and her friends were using the craft in the intended manner, Norris slipped off the back of the Sea-Doo directly into the path of the water thrust by the pump. Her orifices were “penetrated” by the high-pressure water stream resulting in massive, mutilating personal injuries to her lower abdomen.
The suit alleges negligence on the part of Bombardier Recreational through its design, manufacture, and placement of the product into the stream of commerce despite knowledge of the product being dangerous, which the company concealed.
Norris seeks damages for past and future mental anguish, impairment, and loss of enjoyment of life alleging that “great shock to her nervous system” was caused by the injury. She also seeks punitive damages, alleging complete disregard for the welfare of others on the part of Bombardier Recreational.
