Shannon Woman Killed In Crash

The North Carolina Highway Patrol says that a woman from Shannon suffered fatal personal injuries in a single-vehicle accident on April 30.

According to the NCHP, 49-year-old Ladonna Locklear was traveling along Mount Tabor Church Road in a 1992 Ford shortly after 7 a.m. when she crossed the center line. Her vehicle then ran off the road to the left and struck a ditch, causing it to roll several times.

The Highway Patrol said that Locklear was traveling an approximate speed of 75 mph in a 55 mph zone and was not wearing her seat belt.
