Authorities had to close a northbound stretch of Interstate 95 near Smithfield on September 26 while investigating a crash that resulted in several people sustaining personal injuries.
According to a report from WRAL, the crash occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, all four of I-95’s northbound lanes were closed.
Authorities say that several people received transport to a hospital in Raleigh for the injuries they suffered in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
