Police in Raleigh have credited media coverage in assisting in leading to the January 7 arrest of a woman they say struck a man with her vehicle, causing him personal injuries, as he was walking on Hillsboroug Street on January 1. She then fled the scene.
The man, whose identity was not made available, was injured when he was struck by a red car described as a 1998-2000 model Mazda Miata.
The Miata’s driver, 19-year-old Virginia Elizabeth Dresser, surrendered to police. She is faced with charges of felony hit-and-run and reckless driving. She was being held on $10,000 bond.
