Raleigh, NC (March 17, 2026) – A crash involving a school bus and two sedans injured four people on Tuesday, March 17, at the intersection of US-401 and Ligon Mill Road in Raleigh.

Emergency crews responded around 8:15 a.m. to reports of a crash at the intersection where Ligon Mill Road becomes Mitchell Mill Road. Officers confirmed that a Student Transportation of America bus and two passenger vehicles were involved.

An adult on the bus suffered minor injuries. Only one student was on board at the time, and no student injuries were reported.

Troopers stated that the driver and three passengers in one of the sedans also sustained injuries. First responders transported all four injured victims to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Investigators reported that the bus driver attempted to turn left onto US-401 North against a red light. Two sedans traveling through the intersection struck the bus. The bus driver was cited following the collision.

How to Document Injuries After a Crash in North Carolina

After a crash in Raleigh, seek medical care immediately. A prompt evaluation identifies latent injuries and establishes a clear treatment record from the start. Medical reports link your injuries directly to the collision.

Next, photograph your injuries as soon as possible. Capture bruises, cuts, swelling, and other visible marks from multiple angles and distances. Document the healing process with periodic photos to show how your injuries evolve.

It is important to keep a detailed daily symptom log to track how your condition changes over time. Record pain levels, stiffness, headaches, and any limits on your daily activities. This log shows how injuries affect your routine and supports your recovery timeline.

Save all medical documents, bills, and receipts related to your care. This includes hospital visit records, prescriptions, therapy sessions, and follow-up appointments. Organized records streamline treatment tracking and strengthen your legal claim.

If possible, collect contact information from any witnesses at the scene. Their statements can support your account and help confirm key details of the incident. This information may be useful when reviewing what happened later.
