Patrolman Killed In High Speed Pursuit
A Highway Patrol motorcycle officer in California was killed on Friday while chasing four suspects in San Bernadino County. The Patrolman crashed into a tractor-trailer at a speed of around 100 mph.
Patrolman Tom Coleman, a seven-year veteran had attempted to pull over a vehicle he suspected of code violations. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop.
Coleman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle driven by the suspect smashed into a curb a short distance away. The four occupants were taken into custody and arrested for unknown charges.
Coleman is the second CHP to be in a crash this week. An officer was in critical condition after being hit by a motorist on Wednesday.
