One person suffered fatal personal injuries in a head-on collision on Brower Mill Road in Randolph County.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, an SUV driven by 63-year-old Carroll Junior Stutts crossed the centerline and collided with another vehicle at approximately 8:15 p.m.
The impact resulted in the other vehicle, driven by 57-year-old Jerry Lee Chriscoe, to overturn.
According to troopers, Stutts, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.
Chriscoe, whom troopers say was wearing his seat belt, received transport to Randolph Hospital before being airlifted to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Troopers say Stutts had been consuming alcohol.
