According to Lt. Steve Myers, a car was exiting the parking lot of a shopping center and turned onto Westchester when it collided with a minivan, which overturned. Investigators say the van’s driver, Thomasville resident Talia Oxendine, was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three others from the van, including 28-year-old Tyrell Scott, 9-year-old Tyrell Scott, and 11-year-old Rhianna Swinney, were taken to the hospital by emergency workers.

The driver of the car, 77-year-old Dainese Hazzard, received hospital transport. Her husband, 79-year-old Albert Hazzard, was a passenger in her vehicle but was uninjured.

Myers said that all four of the injured were taken to High Point Regional Hospital.
