New App to Help Choose Safer Car

find safe carsAnyone starting the search for buying a new or used car in North Carolina (and across the country) can use the National Highay Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) new app SaferCar for iPhones and iPod touches. Our car accident attorneys in Raleigh have reviewed vehicle safety features and what consumers can look for when comparing cars to buy, and now the NHTSA's new app makes it easy for consumers to check vehicle safety ratings, compare cars, and receive safety recalls.

The process of buying a car is often practical, revolves around budget, and usually involves a small amount of "shopping around" and taking cars for test drives. The most important features to consider when selecting a vehicle are safety features. The SaferCar app lets users compare these features and their respective ratings. Whether you're choosing a car to buy or lease, you are entrusting your safety and those of your passengers (who could be your family, friends, or business clients) in the vehicle you select.

Although even in the most severe car accidents the type of car an accident victim is in may not be a factor, many times accident survivors learn that added safety features like side airbags, a collision detection system, or the electronic stability control system prevented the accident from causing more devastating consequences.

Another great tool in the NHTSA's app is the ability to register the vehicles you own so that you receive custom recall and safety alerts related specifically to your vehicles. For other product recalls, 'like' our Raleigh injury attorneys on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
