According to North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers, a 19-year-old woman admitted to having intentionally run her car into a tractor-trailer, causing a wreck in which she sustained personal injuries that briefly closed part of Interstate 77 in Charlotte.
Trooper C.T. Hodges said that the woman’s vehicle rammed the truck multiple times in the northbound lanes near Uptown before it became trapped underneath the truck as the driver stopped.
Authorities said the woman, whose identity was not immediately made available, suffered injuries that were not considered to be life threatening.
Hodges said the woman told investigators that the crash was intentional and she had been taking prescription medication.
