Motorcyclist Wreck Turns Fatal on Capital Blvd in Raleigh, NC

Raleigh, NC (July 18, 2026) – A motorcyclist died, and three other people sustained serious injuries after a tow truck collided with two motorcycles and a sedan on Friday, July 17, in Raleigh. The crash occurred around 2:35 a.m. at Capital Boulevard and Trawick Road.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, the tow truck driver attempted to turn left at a red light and entered the path of oncoming traffic. A sedan and two motorcycles then struck the truck.

The impact killed 35-year-old motorcyclist Chandler Hodge. Emergency units took a second rider to a nearby hospital with major injuries. Officials said the rider is expected to survive.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the other injured people or shared further details about their injuries.

The Raleigh Police Department continues to investigate the fatal wreck.
