Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Fayetteville Crash
On July 20, a motorcyclist required air transport to UNC Hospitals for the serious personal injuries he suffered after another vehicle apparently turned into his path on Eastern Boulevard in Fayetteville, according to police.
The man’s name has not yet been released by police.
According to Fayetteville Police Department spokeswoman Theresa Chance, the crash occurred shortly before 1 a.m. near Russell Street.
Chance says that as the motorcycle was northbound, a black SUV that was traveling south turned into its path while heading into the parking lot of the Upscale Restaurant and Lounge at 225 S. Eastern Blvd.According to Chance, police charged the SUV’s driver, Derrick Watson, with DWI and failure to yield right of way.
