Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Gorman St in Raleigh, NC

Raleigh, NC (August 22, 2026) – A motorcyclist died following a collision with a pickup truck on Gorman Street near Walnut Creek Parkway in Raleigh on Thursday, August 20. The wreck occurred shortly before 10:00 p.m.

The Raleigh Police Department reported that the pickup driver approached a stop sign on Walnut Creek Parkway. The driver slowed but did not come to a complete stop before turning left into the motorcycle’s path.

Emergency units arrived and assisted the motorcyclist. Crews transported the rider to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, but the motorcyclist later died.

The pickup driver remained there and cooperated with investigators. The driver was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to yield the right of way.

Crews closed Gorman Street between Thistledown Drive and Walnut Creek Parkway while investigators examined the crash. The roadway reopened shortly after midnight.

The Raleigh Police Department continues investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
