On September 11, a Fort Bragg soldier suffered fatal personal injuries in a motorcycle accident on an exit ramp on Interstate 40 in Wake County.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol says that the 25-year-old man was riding a motorcycle on I-40 when he took the exit for U.S. Highway 70, lost control of the bike, and collided with the guardrail.

According to troopers, the man received transport to WakeMed in Raleigh, where he was later pronounced dead.

Troopers say that speed was not considered to be a factor in the crash. Further details, including the victim’s identity, have yet to be released.
