A 47-year-old man suffered fatal personal injuries on the morning of March 22 when the 1999 Buick he was driving ran off Camden Road near Hope Mills, hit several trees, and overturned, the North Carolina Highway Patrol said.
The name of the driver and his address were being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The accident took place shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Camden Road, near Wipperwill Drive.
The driver was eastbound on Camden when the vehicle crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the road. The NCHP said he overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle, which ran off the right side of the road, went airborne, hit some trees, overturned, and came to rest on its roof beside the road.
The driver was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
