Man Files Suit Against Insurance Company Over Unpaid Workers' Compensation Claim
A man from Groves, Texas has filed suit against American Zurich Insurance Co. claiming that after he sustained personal injuries on the job, he was not paid for a workers’ compensation claim he filed.
According to the suit he filed in Texas’ Jefferson County District Court on January 2, Paul Pruitt sustained personal injuries while working at M & I Electric Industries in Jefferson County.
The suit claims that at the time Pruitt sustained the injury, M & I Electric had a workers’ compensation policy under American Zurich Insurance Company. But the suit alleges that American Zurich “failed and refused to conduct a reasonable investigation” of the workers’ compensation claim that he filed.
Pruitt seeks unspecified actual, treble, and punitive damages plus costs.
