According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, speed was a factor in a single-car crash on August 9 in which a 20-year-old woman from Lillington died of the personal injuries she suffered.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m. on the day of the crash, Dalanie Roe Webb died when she lost control of her vehicle as she was eastbound on McDougald Road.

According to Trooper L.C. Whitaker, Webb’s Toyota Camry crossed the center line and she overcorrected. The vehicle then hit a ditch, causing it to overturn. Webb was not wearing her seat belt and was partially ejected.
