Firefighters in Charlotte’s Elizabeth neighborhood had to extract a person who suffered personal injuries when their SUV overturned on the morning of March 3.
According to the firefighters, the SUV hit a patch of ice on the Hawthorne Lane bridge over Independence Boulevard at approximately 7:15 a.m. The vehicle then spun out of control, collided with a brick wall outside a house, then overturned.
A total of 14 firefighters responded to the scene and were able to extract the injured person within 10 minutes. The person received hospital transport and is expected to survive.
