High-Speed Wreck on US-1 Kills Three in Wake Co., NC

Wake County, NC (June 16, 2026) – A high-speed wreck on Saturday morning, June 13, on northbound US-1 in southern Wake County killed three people and seriously injured a fourth.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said troopers responded near Friendship Road just after 12:28 a.m. A 2014 Infiniti Q50 sedan was speeding in the northbound lanes when the driver lost control. The car left the right side of the road and rolled over several times.

The driver, 21-year-old Darius Josiah Stevens of Spring Lake, died at the scene. Front passenger Ricky Rosas, 20, also died at the scene. Left rear passenger Marion Kim, 19, of Jacinto, California, was ejected during the crash and died.

The fourth person in the vehicle, 22-year-old Luis Feliciano of Laredo, Texas, was taken to WakeMed Raleigh Campus with serious injuries.

Troopers said speed appears to be a primary factor in the collision. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
