On the night of December 14, a head-on collision on Poole road in east Raleigh resulted in five people being sent to the hospital with personal injuries.
Troopers did not make the identities of any of the people involved in the crash, but said that none of their injuries were considered to be life-threatening.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol said that a driver attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone and swerved into an oncoming vehicle.
Troopers said the passing driver was found to be at fault and would face charges.
