The 2-year-old daughter of an assistant Granville County district attorney suffered fatal personal injuries in a wreck on the morning of November 5, according to close family friends and the district attorney’s office.
North Carolina state troopers did not make the identities of the victims of the wreck, which took place on Brassfield Road, near Lawrence Road, east of Creedmoor at about 7:15 a.m., immediately available.
But family friends and Granville District Attorney Sam Currin said that Kamryn Gardner, daughter of Assistant District Attorney Tasha Clay-Gardner, was one of the crash’s victims.
Currin said Clay-Gardner’s husband was also hospitalized for the injuries he suffered in the crash. Information about his condition was not immediately made available.
Troopers said that a father and young daughter were traveling west on Brassfield when the car struck a deer. The man lost control and the vehicle ran off the road and overturned into a swampy area.
WRAL News said that passersby said they rushed to the victims’ aid, but the girl was trapped in her car seat.
