The North Carolina Highway Patrol says four people who suffered fatal personal injuries in a two-car collision near the town of Dudley have been identified.
According to troopers, 20-year-old Dudley resident Jeremy Elijah Bryant Pate was driving a Chrysler Sebring that was involved in a collision with a pickup truck driven by 41-year-old Mount Olive resident Gordon Lane on the evening of September 18.
Both drivers died in the accident in addition to two others inside the Chrysler, 21-year-old Dudley resident Joseph Lee Carter and 20-year-old Dudley resident Jerrod Roddick McKiver.
Troopers say Pate was speeding and attempted to pass a vehicle when he collided head-on with the truck.
