In a recent wrongful death suit, a jury in San Jose, California awarded $6.2 million to the family of a 40-year-old man killed by a taser manufactured by Taser International, Inc. Police in the Salinas, CA area responded to a call of a domestic disturbance at the home of Robert Heston, Jr. While there, they utilized a taser device on Heston, who later died from a suspected overexposure to the electric shock he received.

The standard allegations of negligence were included in the suit, including the failure to warn. This suit is the first product liability suit lost by Taser involving a wrongful death.
