According to Austin, Minnesota Police Lt. John Mueller, an 8-year-old girl required five stitches for the personal injuries she sustained after being bitten in the face by a dog.

 

Shortly before 1 p.m. on August first, the child was playing with the dog at a residence in LeRoy, Minnesota when it attacked her.

 

According to Mueller, the dog’s owner believed the bite to be accidental. The owner said that the girl had her face near the face of the 1-year-old dog, which had no history of biting. He said that the dog was described as being medium-sized, brown, and friendly.

 

Mueller said that the girl received transport to Austin Medical Center by relatives.
