Durham Accident Claims Three Lives
Durham Accident Claims Three Lives
A single vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon claimed the lives of three people in Durham.
The accident occurred around 3 p.m. when a Nissan Maxima driven by Marcus Rogers, ran off the right side of the road.
Rogers lost control of the Maxima, struck a ditch, and turned over numerous times before landing in the woods. The driver and both passengers were thrown from the vehicle.
Destinee Taylor, 16, and a male passenger whose name was not released were pronounced dead at the scene. Taylor was a student at Hillside High School in Durham.
Rogers was transported to Duke Hospital where she died several hours later.
It was feared a baby might have also been thrown from the vehicle after seeing an empty car seat in the car.
It was determined that speed contributed to the accident.
