Dunn Man Dies After Vehicle Overturns

On July 16, a man from Dunn died of the personal injuries he suffered when the car he was driving ran straight through a curve in the road and upended in a ditch across the street.

The 1994 Jeep 41-year-old Bobby Sherrill Tart was driving on Ashe Avenue at Cole Street struck a guy-wire on the left shoulder after going through the curve, causing it to overturn twice and eventually come to rest on its side adjacent to a tree approximately 100 feet from the roadway.

According to Dunn Police Chief B.P. Jones, speed was not a factor.
