Crane Operator In Iowa Dies When Crane Falls Off Bridge Onto Railroad Tracks

An Iowa crane operator died from the personal injuries he received as a result of a construction crane falling over onto the railroad tracks nearby. The railroad had to be shutdown because of the accident.

On May 20, the crane was moving a beam in a bridge construction zone near Adair, Iowa. The crane fell through a hole in the deck of the bridge and landed on the tracks below the bridge.

The operator, 27-year-old Dustin Flinn, was an employee of Atlantic, Iowa-based A.M. Cohron & Son Inc.
