Police in Greensboro spent some time in the heat on June 24 to clear an accident which caused personal injuries and resulted in traffic being backed up.


According to police, the accident took place shortly before 3 p.m. on Highway 29 South near the exit for Bessemer Avenue.


Police said that a Nissan Maxima was attempting to merge onto Highway 29 and a tractor-trailer was unable to stop in time and both vehicles collided with a van.


The Maxima was carrying three people, there was one person in the van, and there was one person in the tractor-trailer.


Police said one child required transport to the hospital. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
