Child Abuse Cases Reported South of Raleigh

Clayton, NC child abuse charges were brought against Paul Canally, a former Johnston County seventh grade school teacher. Canally, 29, was also charged with five felony counts of statutory rape, eight misdemeanor counts of sexual battery, five counts of felony indecent liberties with a child, and thirteen counts of third-degree sexual exploitation related to child pornography.

NC Teacher Charged With Sex Abuse

Canally’s alleged abuse involved a teenage boy, who he was involved with for over a year and half. Canally resigned from his teaching position in Johnston County before the alleged child abuse started. The former teacher was known to host barbecues and parties in his home where kids were present. The teenage boy didn’t report the abuse until February 2012; now Canally is being held in jail on over a million dollar bond. Additional students have come forward since the first boy's report.

Fayetteville Child Abuse

In a separate child abuse incident, a Fayetteville man just a year younger than Canally, has been accused of molesting a five-year-old girl. Brandon Keisler is under investigation for allegedly making the young girl perform oral sex on him. Keisler was charged with crime against nature, first-degree sex offense, and indecent liberties with a child.
