A woman from Winston-Salem has been charged with DWI after a crash in which three people suffered fatal personal injuries.

The accident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. on Fairgrove Church Road, near N.C. 150, in Browns Summit in northern Guilford County.

According to Trooper Greg Ingram of the North Carolina Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Amanda Sperluti was charged after the February 13 crash. She received treatment at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro for the injuries she suffered.

Ingram said the NCHP believes speed an alcohol to have been factors in the crash. The vehicle Sperluti was driving ran off the road and collided with a tree.

Three passengers in the vehicle, 18-year-old Whitsett resident Sascha Hoffman, 23-year-old Greensboro resident Scott Bedwell, and 18-year-old Browns Summit resident Taylor McCaskill, all died in the crash.

According to Ingram, any further charges would come after Trooper Mitchell Mann, who responded to the crash, completes his investigation and consults the district attorney’s office.
