Police said 45-year-old Marc Allen Whyte died in a crash on Old Raleigh Road, between Laura Duncan Road and U.S. Highway 64. Police said they have yet to determine the cause of the crash, but do not believe alcohol to have been a factor.
The accident took place shortly after 1 p.m. and police were forced to close the road for a time.
