The North Carolina Highway Patrol reported that an off-duty Randolph County deputy sustained serious personal injuries in a Fourth of July weekend accident in which alcohol was a factor.
According to a report in the Asheboro Courier-Tribune, 27-year-old deputy Luccas Barber was driving along Bethany Church Road near Randleman on the night of July 3 when he lost control of the sport utility vehicle he was driving and crashed.
