Emergency dispatchers say an accident on the morning of August 17 in Kenly in which a person suffered personal injuries after a collision with a tree is under investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

 

Dispatchers say that the accident took place shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Highway 222, approximately four miles west of Kenly.

 

According to the dispatchers, one person temporarily became trapped inside the vehicle and after being extricated, was transported to WakeMed in Raleigh via helicopter with injuries considered to be serious.

 

No further details were immediately made available.
